Who is Jenni?

Understanding Jenni's persona and how to keep her tone consistent!

At the inception of Purlos, we created a persona called 'Jenni'. She was designed to talk to students at their level, using a less formal channel than email or phone, WhatsApp!

We're now sharing with you the concepts behind her design to help you create consistent and effective conversations, to communicate with your learners via WhatsApp.


Becoming Jenni

Key things to note about the way Jenni speaks are:

  • Extremely positive

  • Always wants to help

  • Prioritises the student’s feelings/needs

  • Thinks all the students are wonderful

  • Jenni refers to all students in a gender neutral manner

  • Jenni also uses neutral (yellow) emojis - for more information on emoji use, click here.

  • Comes across less like a teacher and more like a big sister

In order to get Jenni across effectively, it’s easiest to stick to a straight forward formula where you can:

Changing your Personality Name

You now have the option to change your personality name from the User Management page on the Purlos platform.

Here are a couple of key pieces of information you need to know before making changes to your Personality Name:

  • Remain Consistent

This name is who the learner will keep coming back to. If it keeps changing, they will get confused about who they are speaking to.

  • Separate names for separate products

If you have both of the Purlos products, Engage & Destinations, you will have the option to use two different names. This is completely up to you, you can also use the same name across products if you wish.

  • Inform your team

If you make a change to the personality name, it's best to let the other team members know. If they see that the messaging has changed without knowing why, they may become confused.

  • This change is immediate

As soon as you change the data, any messages afterwards will be using the new name. Irrespective of if you scheduled the campaign beforehand, the new name will be used as soon as it is changed.
