How do I design a message in Welsh and English?
Firstly, it's important that the Welsh section of the message comes first, followed by the English translation. We have found that this is the most effective method of constructing a dual language conversation.
To separate the message, you can leave a space between the two languages as seen below.
To view the message from the student's perspective, check out the 'Purlos Mobile' on the right hand side.
When providing the students with answers to choose from in the menu section of your message, it is important to separate the two languages. To make this clear, you can use ' / ' to distinguish the language change. Simple, yet efficient!
Message length
When using two languages, the message will inevitably be a lot longer. It is important to remember this when designing your conversation. If the message is too long, the student is more likely to disregard the message and not reply, so keep it short where possible.
The 'Purlos Mobile' section of the Conversation Designer displays the student's perspective of their phone, whether they receive the message on WhatsApp or SMS.
Message Footer
All of our messages end with the same footer, to provide the clearest instructions to the recipient of the message. To change your footer from English to Welsh open up the relevant campaign and head to the Settings.
Once opened, scroll until you find the Language option. Here, you can change to Welsh.
