Keep surveys short
Before adding a question, ask yourself:
Is this information essential?
Will I use the answer?
Could I collect this another way?
Choose the right question type
Use Menu Options when learners can choose from a predefined list of answers. This makes responses easier to compare and report on.
Use Free Form when you want learners to answer in their own words, such as feedback or comments.
Make use of pathways
Not every learner needs to answer the same questions.
Add pathway-specific questions to make surveys more relevant and avoid asking learners questions that don't apply to them.
Write clear questions
Keep questions short and conversational.
Try to ask one thing at a time and avoid unnecessary jargon.
Clear questions are more likely to receive accurate responses.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can't I edit Q1, Q2 or Q3?
These questions are fixed to ensure surveys remain compliant with WhatsApp messaging requirements and continue to capture the information needed for destination reporting.
Can I ask different questions in each pathway?
Yes. Each pathway has its own set of custom questions, allowing you to tailor the survey based on the learner's destination.
Is there a limit to the number of custom questions?
Yes. You can add up to 9 custom questions in each pathway. However, we recommend keeping surveys as short as possible to maximise completion rates.
Can I copy a question to another pathway?
Yes. Copy a custom question, then paste it into any other pathway.
Can I reorder questions?
Yes. Custom questions can be reordered within a pathway using drag and drop or the arrow controls.
Can I delete a custom question?
Yes. Hover over the question and select the delete icon.
Please note that deleted questions cannot be recovered.
Why doesn't my question appear in every pathway?
Custom questions only appear in the pathway where they were added.
If you'd like to ask the same question elsewhere, copy and paste it into the other pathway(s).
